Gypsies from Romania

Image
Romanians MUST NOT be equalized with the Gypsies. There is a misconception about this and somebody in the history of our last 20 years of Romanian post'89 democracy invented the word "rrom" so that gypsies ("tigan" in Romanian) should (at some point in the future) be assimilated with Romanians. This is wrong and dangerous, because native Romanians have a history of our own, gypsies don't even have a place of settlement, they are people who have migrated from centuries and "settle" only in places where they are tolerated. Words must be carefully chosen, I used the word "tolerated" because in Romania they are well tolerated. And this is done in spite of the fact that they don't want to work and to be educated, although there are jobs and free access to education just for them. As a general rule (I am not saying they are all the same) Gypsies can't be integrated, and this is true about every place in the European Union. French pe

How to plan for a trip in European countries

Image
This applies mostly for the people from European countries, but not necessarily. We all Europeans benefit nowadays from what I believe to be the greatest opportunity we have ever had to travel easily and rapidly to almost anywhere we like in Europe. What troubles me is that I cannot understand why people like Romanians don't like travelling, because for me it is like a second nature, it's almost like a drug. Most of the them probably have financial reasons not to travel but still it just doesn't make sense why some prefer to spend money on fancy cars or big houses when the world is out there waiting for them...it it something wrong about people from my country and it's not only about this aspect, there are a lot of thing that I don't understand (for example: why we like so much things we see as tourists and we do nothing to just copy those good things, it would be much simpler and productive; or how it is possible to spend money on a 100.000 euro car and sleep in

My Android experience

Image
My new HTC Desire is like a jewel, has almost everything a smart-phone is suppose to have except it is not suited for business purposes, at least for now. For that particular reason Nokia E72 is still the king, in my opinion! Keep in mind that the following remarks are just my impressions, I am not a professional in evaluating mobile phones, it is just experience. The world of smart-phones is growing fast, the battle for supremacy is still in progress and that is a good thing, because the technology evolves every day. Still there are more to do about them, for example progress must be made about batteries, since the modern operating systems installed on mobiles (Android, Windows Mobile, MacOS) consume a lot of energy. Have you noticed that most of the batteries sold are around 1400-1500 mAh? Why is that, is because there are commercial interests so that people should buy extra batteries from third party vendors, or is that because there is no more room inside the phone to store a b

Somebody takes a stand to hooliganism

This is the article that has taken my attention and made my day beautiful. It was published by Hotnews.ro on the 2nd of August 2010. The English translation for the mentioned page here . The reality is that there are so few of us that say and do something about all those guys who make noise near the house we live in. I remember I had to call 20 times the police so that a Romanian Gypsy family near my house would keep silence at night. They are very stubborn and respect no law. We all have an inner fear of calling the police, we are intimidated by them and do nothing to make our life better, most of us just ignore and suffer in silence. NO MORE, I say, people have to fight for their rights, for a good sleep at night!
